About the Mosque
History of Tavares Islamic Center :
2011
One of our beloved brothers gathered a small group of Muslims from the tri-city area of Mount Dora, Eustis, and Tavares. He generously offered his home to be used as a Musallah for daily prayers. This humble beginning was named Tavares Islamic Center, located at 3331 David Walker Drive, Tavares, Florida.
2012
As the community continued to grow, efforts began to search for a larger and more suitable place where proper permits could be obtained to establish a mosque.
2014
A suitable property was found and purchased at 2824 S. Grove Street, Eustis, Florida, approximately one mile from the original Musallah.
2015
Renovation of the property was completed, and Alhamdulillah, the mosque became fully operational.
Since then, the mosque has been open for five daily prayers, including Jumu’ah (Friday) prayer, as well as other religious, educational, and community activities.
May Allah (SWT) reward all our donors, patrons, and well-wishers—especially the respected seniors of Orlando Jama Masjid, whose guidance and support played a vital role in reaching this milestone.
May Allah (SWT) accept this effort, bless our community, and unite and uplift the entire Muslim Ummah. Ameen.
